Leadership Team

Col. Sumeet Malhan, SM (Veteran), serves as the Chief Executive Officer of PRESPL, India’s leading biomass-based clean energy company.A highly decorated officer of the Indian Army, Col. Malhan brings over two decades of distinguished leadership experience, having led men, missions, and large organisations under demanding operational and decision-critical conditions. He is a recipient of the Sena Medal (Gallantry) and has been Mentioned in Despatches for exemplary courage and leadership. During his tenure with the Army and later with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), he was closely involved in the planning and execution of strategic infrastructure programs, operating within high-governance, safety-critical environments.Col. Malhan combines a strong engineering foundation with executive-level leadership experience across complex, asset-intensive operations. His professional development includes executive education at Harvard Business School, complemented by formal engineering education from Jawaharlal Nehru University and advanced leadership training through the Indian Army’s senior command and management institutions. Across his career, he has led large-scale infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy projects spanning civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, often in environments with limited formal structures and high execution accountability.Since joining PRESPL in 2019, Col. Malhan has led the company through a phase of rapid operational scaling and industrial maturity. Under his leadership, PRESPL has expanded its network of biomass briquetting and industrial steam plants, strengthened manufacturing and operations excellence, and built resilient, pan-India supply chains. His focus on throughput, safety, quality, and sustainability has enabled PRESPL to deliver measurable environmental impact while maintaining strong commercial discipline.Blending operational rigor with purpose-driven leadership, Col. Col. Pronob Kumar Roy (Veteran) is the Chief Operating Officer at PRESPL, India’s leading integrated biomass supply chain and bioenergy company.An Indian Army Veteran with over 32 years of distinguished service, he brings a rare blend of military precision, global operational strategy, and sustainability leadership.A decorated officer and former Deputy Chief of Integrated Support Staff with the United Nations Mission in Haiti, Col. Roy has led large-scale logistics, infrastructure, and relief operations in high-pressure environments. At PRESPL, he drives pan-India operations, including biomass procurement, supply chain management, and decarbonization initiatives - enabling cleaner energy adoption across industries and MSMEs.Academically accomplished, he holds degrees in Chemistry, Electronics Engineering, Strategic Management, and Operational Art, alongside certifications in project and financial management. As a mentor at institutions like IIMs, NIFM, and USI Delhi, Col. Roy is widely respected for his thought leadership in sustainability and operational excellence.<meta>
